Beneficiaries
We realize that there are many local organizations and charities who depend on donations to keep functioning. We have chosen 6 local organizations in the Folsom/Sacramento area in addition to our global beneficiary (ONE).
Beneficiaries:
Sacramento Sheriff's Toy Project: The program provides a character building environment for offenders, who work with law enforcement officers and community volunteers to build dollhouses, rocking horses, rocking motorcycles and refurbish bicycles to nearly new condition. Deputy Sheriff's and Sheriff volunteers distribute these items to the less fortunate community.
Powerhouse Ministries: Powerhouse Ministries is a non profit interdenominational corporation serving families and individuals in crisis with love and mercy to meet their physical, emotional, educational, social and spiritual needs. Powerhouse is committed to strengthening all aspects of individual and family life.
Patrons of the Arts: Folsom Patrons of the Arts (FPA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts in the community.
Folsom Cordova Community Partnership: The mission of the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is to mobilize and integrate resources that enhance the education, health and well being of the children and families of our community.
Friends of the Folsom Library: Friends of the Folsom Public Library is a volunteer non-profit organization advocating and promoting the library as a vital community service.
Folsom Area Bicycle Advocates: The Folsom Area Bicycle Advocates (FABA) mission is to promote cycling in our community as a healthy, pollution-free practical mode of transportation and recreation for people of all ages and abilities. FABA represents cyclists' interests in and around the Folsom area through advocacy, special events and promotional activities.
ONE is a grassroots campaign and advocacy organization backed by more than 2 million people from around the world and every walk of life who are committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa.
At ONE, they achieve change through advocacy. They hold world leaders accountable for the promises made to the poorest people, and press those leaders to support better policies and more effective aid and trade reform. They also support greater democracy, accountability and transparency in developing countries so these resources can be effectively deployed.
Cofounded by Bono, Bobby Shriver and other campaigners, and supported by Bob Geldof and other high profile activists, ONE is nonpartisan and works with activists from the left, right and center to mobilize public opinion in support of effective, proven initiatives that are delivering results: protecting families from preventable diseases like AIDS and malaria, putting kids in school, providing economic opportunity and stabilizing communities. To help ensure the policies they advocate are effective, they seek advice from leading African anti-poverty campaigners and policy experts.
At ONE, they believe the fight against poverty is not about charity, but about justice and equality. they are honored to be part of a greater movement of people and organizations working to end poverty
